Role
The scope of this job is capturing business and user requirements and designing compelling solutions.
The job requires working closely with a wide range of team members including designers, developers, analysts and project managers. The role is client facing with a strong need to communicate with clients at all levels.
Key Responsibilities include
- Contributing to pitches and project work
- Analysis, evaluation and competitive benchmarking
- Working with project teams to deliver on time and within the budget
- Establish audience and business needs including customer scenarios, journeys and business processes
- Identify and manage all content requirements including publishing analysis
- Create and structure the architecture using concept maps, site maps, wireframes to taxonomy schemas
- Establish and continue to review architecture against design and technical development
- Lead and manage client expectation, engaging them with good creative, innovative solutions
Personal qualities
Essential
- Ability to clearly understand and communicate a client's business and audience issues, objectives and needs
- Understand how and why people relate to and use technology, design and content
- Understand how and why site design including structure, interface and content contribute towards a compelling experience
- Familiarity with a variety of information architecture tools, processes and methodologies (e.g. site maps, wire frames and/or content inventories)
- Familiarity with usability and accessibility issues and their impact on information architecture
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Good listening skills
- 3-4 years of experience in the field
Desirable
- Understand implications of usability and accessibility issues
- Familiarity with technologies including content management systems
- Interest in issues, events and authors on information architecture, design and related areas
- Background in design and/or information-based areas
- Commercial acumen
- Degree level qualification
