located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is focused on creating custom Internet applications that can be easily deployed into any browser. Laszlo's server-based technology allows companies to rapidly build next generation Rich Internet Applications (RIA's) that result is a quicker, richer, smarter, and more fluid Internet. Responsibilities of the senior visual designer position include designing and building Flash prototypes to mimic rich Internet applications for client presentations and working closely with Studios engineers to develop the final LZX applications. The ideal candidate will have ambidextrous left and right brain skills: a keen eye for interactive and visual design plus the smarts to develop groundbreaking user experiences.
Responsibilities
• Translate customer requirements into visually and functionally innovative design solutions • Lead prototyping of screen development with an emphasis on visual layouts, typography, and user interaction elements • Play an active role in all aspects of the design process including identification of user needs, storyboarding and prototyping • Help lead internal branding efforts and development of printed corporate communication materials • Engage collaboratively and flexibly with Studios design Lead and team members • Collaborate with Studios engineers to translate design solutions into working LZX applications
Requirements
• Proven track record of success with interactive media prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Visio, and HTML) • Strong creativity and conceptual skills, with an original design sensibility and solid typographic skills • Ability to innovate - create designs outside existing standards and norms • Graphic Design or UI degree or equivalent experience • 3 to 5+ years industry experience in web and/or application design (design agency experience a plus) • Wildly creative and obsessively meticulous • Strong verbal skills, with ability to communicate the rationale behind your concepts • Highly self-motivated, independent, responsible and able to thrive on multidisciplinary teams • Organized, efficient and articulate, with strong writing skills and an eye for detail • Able to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines • Special consideration will be given to candidates who's portfolios include examples of web application interface work
