Sr Program Specialist – Usability, CDW

The primary purpose of the Sr Program Specialist – Usability position is to plan and execute user research for strategies and projects that will shape how the CDW’s websites are built for the future, determining the best possible features for our sites and ensuring that all projects add value to the business and provide an optimal user experience.

Responsibilities include assist in generating research plans, defining and tracking user experience metrics, consuming user research, consuming market research, identifying best practices, consuming competitive analyses, and helping to build program roadmaps for usability and related activities.

Essential Functions:
* Work with the Usability Program Manager in the coordination, execution and analysis of user research projects and usability tests.
* Work with a cross-functional team on the design, implementation and testing of new function/features/and site upgrades.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Coordinate meetings; take meeting notes and distribute recaps when necessary.
* Assist with other initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of career experience in E-Commerce, usability or a related field preferred, 3 years minimum
* Experience and understanding of user-centered development process
* Experience in developing user scenarios, profiles, personas, requirements documentation, usability testing/evaluations and techniques and analysis
* Experience in research and evaluation; understanding of survey development techniques
* Understanding of information architecture principles: task flow diagrams, information/navigation/interaction models, rapid prototyping, wire frames and other related skills
* Excellent listening, writing and verbal communications skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong creative and conceptual skills
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability and desire to work as part of a team
* Ability to easily interact with people from multiple related disciplines including project managers, business owners, developers, interactive designers and content managers
* Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Mastery of following software is needed:
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
* Internet Browsing software (Explorer, FireFox, Netscape, Opera)
* Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
* Macromedia Dreamweaver and or Homesite, Macromedia Flash a plus
* Advanded knowledge of client side web design GUI standards, HTML, XML, CSS.

* Bachelor*s degree or equivalent. Preferred areas of study: E-Commerce, Interaction Design, Information Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, Computer Science, or related fields.
