Lumenare Networks, Inc.

User Interface Designer

Lumenare Networks is seeking a creative user interface designer to help solve problems in the intersection of test management (think: Mercury Test Director) and network management (think: HP OpenView). You’ll work with a talented, senior development team to research and design solutions in a brand-new problem domain.

- We expect you to interview users, and model their work flow.

- Determine when it’s appropriate to rely on standard paradigms, and when we need to create something out of the box.

- Be creative, and want to blow people away with a great design.

- Validate the usability of your design with standard testing practices.

- Be our internal expert on the look and feel of the product, and the final word on these debates.

Your background should include at least 5-6 years experience in enterprise, client-server applications, with a mix of fat-client and web-client development. (If all you’ve done is e-commerce websites, this is probably not a good fit.)

You should have a strong, and relevant, educational background. (An advanced degree is impressive, but not required.)

Graphical illustration skills are not important, but you should have a network of good artists who we can call upon.

Finally, this is a traditional start-up environment, and you should thrive on the excitement surrounding the creation of something brand new.
