The Macrovision User Experience (UX) team is dedicated to optimizing end user experiences for Macrovision products by increasing the usefulness, usability, and aesthetic design of our desktop and web-based software. Our team works in two capacities: 1) with the individual product teams to help define, design, and test their products for the next release, and 2) with various internal teams, corporate executives, and customers to craft experiences for the next generation of software products. In 2004, our products won over 10 professional awards for design and usability.

The UX team is searching for a highly-motivated individual who has experience crafting simple UI solutions for complex applications. The User Interface Designer is expected to work closely with Product Managers to design products that meet the business needs, comply with technical limitations, and are easy to use. The candidate’s portfolio must demonstrate a broad depth of experience with emphasis on user interface design, process flow mapping, and spec writing.

• Write product/feature design specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.).
• Work with other members of the team to design, prepare, and conduct usability testing on design concepts with current/prospective customers.
• Work with engineers to ensure the product created is “true” to the original design.
• Help product teams evaluate product success, identify usability flaws, and design usable solutions.
• Meet regularly with call center managers and sales staff to understand the current issues/complaints with your products.
• Identify new design trends that will make our products easier to use.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional design experience.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
• Proven ability to work and coordinate with multiple groups, including business owners, product managers, creative designers, usability engineers, software developers, and senior executives.
