User Interface Designer, Soliant Consulting

Job Description:
Small, growing company seeks junior- to mid-level User Interface Designer to work with our team of developers to build easy-to-use, elegant software solutions for our diverse client base.
Responsibilities may include:
• Developing a suite of design templates and usability conventions to help our developers quickly implement attractive interfaces.
• Performing iterative user interface design.
• Reviewing current and completed systems to recommend and help implement enhancements.
• Creating task workflows and user scenarios; translating these into design decisions.
• Beta-testing systems with an eye toward usability and quality assurance.
• Providing assistance with creating attractive proposals and presentations for new business or training programs.
Key to our success is our ability to turn around projects quickly. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and work well both individually and as part of a team. Most importantly, the candidate will approach the position with an eye towards designing tools to assist our developers in implementing attractive, user-friendly solutions.

Preferred Experience:
• Database design experience. Our tool of choice is FileMaker Pro.
• Background in computer science, database programming, and/or graphic design.
• Experience with MS Office, Acrobat Distiller, Visio, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with a cross-functional team.
