My client operates in the specialist field of mobile replication technology, they are now seeking an interaction designer to join their London office. The ideal candidate should have experience in user interface design for mobile devices and web interfaces and a strong technical grounding.
The role
The Interaction Designer will be expected to carry out some or all of the following types of activities:
* Critical analysis of user needs, scenario development, and
requirements capture
* Creative interface concept generation + development
* Design, prototyping and user testing of mobile device
applications and web-based interfaces
* Drafting user interface design specifications, creating
supporting literature/user guides
Core Requirements
The following skills/abilities will be essential to fulfil the role:
* User-centred approach to design
* Thorough and logical approach to interaction problems
* Communication skills, ability to explain/present concepts
through sketch work/illustrations/animations
* Familiarity with a range of appropriate software tools e.g.
Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks/Director/Flash/HTML editors/PowerPoint etc
* Strong grounding in technical aspects of user interface design
The designer will also have demonstrated the ability to work with technical developers, understanding and negotiating design issues within technical constraints. He/she will be self-motivated, tenacious, flexible and entrepreneurial in order to fit in with the dynamics of a small, fast-moving company.
Salary: £30 - 40,000 DOE
Start date: ASAP
