Interaction Designer, Prudential Real Estate and Relocation

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Duration: 9-month contract position

We are looking for an Interaction Designer to join our team at Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services. This person will design a user experience that conforms to project requirements, is technically feasible, and meets the users’ needs. As part of the design process, the Interaction Designer participates in JAD sessions, defines the user experience based on business requirements and user interviews, creates wire-frames and mock- ups, and facilitates design review sessions. As our company supports an iterative design process, the Interaction Designer must be able to work with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and business analysts as the project team refines the design.

Solid communication and collaboration skills are required. To build positive team dynamics, an understanding of usability and design principles and the ability to communicate design recommendations to a varied audience is also required.

In addition, usability testing experience is strongly recommended.

Requirements
+ Solid understanding of usability principles, including either
+ education,
industry training, or independent study on cognitive psychology, usability, or interaction design
+ 2-5 years experience creating the interaction/functional designs for
applications, including wire-frames and screen-flow diagrams
+ Because the core application has already been selected for this
+ project,
the Interaction Designer must be able to discern inherent design patterns in the application and then be able to extend them to create custom components.
+ Experience creating user interface specifications, documenting the
+ task
flow as well as interface rules
+ Experience creating personas or conducting user research, such as user
interviews or contextual inquiries
+ Proficiency in Visio and Word
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team player who
+ enjoys collaborating with analyst, design and development
teams
+ Proven ability to meet deadlines and comfortable with fast-paced
development cycles
+ Willing to strive for the ideal design process while still working
+ within
the framework of the organization, project, and environment

Recommended
+ Experience with usability testing design, administration, analysis and
documentation

A portfolio including functional designs or UI Specifications is required.
