Position Summary
Red Hat is seeking a UI Designer to help drive a world class web user experience for our customers and partners. You will be responsible for the look-and-feel, information flow, and visual design of our customer and partner portals, including related areas such as the web store and product marketing web pages. Responsibilities include human factors analysis, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing. You will work to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of web sites in collaboration with Business Strategists, Project Managers, Creative Directors, System Engineers, Web Developers, and Web Engineers. You will write the user interface specifications, build wire frame prototypes, create any necessary art, and work closely with our developers and engineers to implement the designs. Experience with leading or managing the design for one or more complex web-based systems is desired. This position offers a combination of hands-on design work and leadership opportunities.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in designing extremely usable, consumer- oriented web-based interfaces.
* Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
* Experience with user-centered web design and usability testing
* Strong illustration, graphic design and user interface design experience
* Knowledge of key web technologies such as HTML, xHTML, XML, CSS, RSS, and AJAX.
* MS in human-computer interaction or related field preferred (BS or MS in Computer Science or related field a plus).
