Position Description:
General Purpose
As an experienced Design Engineer for Usability/Human Factors you give advice to product programs and product marketing in all usability issues and identify user needs and influence the product design. Additionally you conduct user task analysis as well as to perform early prototyping in order to get rapid customer feedback. You set up and conduct usability tests and evaluate the out of the box experience. Furthermore, you represent the needs of end users while producing cutting edge products.

Requirements:
Qualification
o MA/MSc degree in: Human Factors Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Skills
o Strong user interface design skills
o Understanding of user-centered design
o Usability assessment skills and instincts o Understanding of experimental & statistical design o Excellent communication and team working skills o Fluent in written and spoken English o Ability to create effective technical documentation o Experience with Mobile User Interfaces
Business Unit Description:
The Product Miniaturisation Site within Multimedia, Entertainment Products Business Unit, is developing world's smallest handheld multimedia devices with cutting edge technology. Our Miniaturisation teams comprise Software, System Design, Hardware, Mechanical Design and Design Validation; we are located in the Product Creation Site Bochum, Germany. Currently Multimedia products are developed with high focus on usability. It is very important to influence the product design as early as possible by respecting the view of the real end customer. Getting the customerīs view in will result in a product design based on end customerīs needs (positive influence on sales figures) on the one hand, on the other hand the costs of product rework due to lately known user requirements will be reduced dramatically. Especially in new product categories (as media phones) it is extremely important to have rapid feedback cycles. You will be member of the Miniaturisation Hardware Stream. Working in a matrix organization, you will report to Project Management (project issues) and to the Stream Leader (line issues).
