Senior Technical Analyst, Frog Design

Frog is a global design firm that specializes in the convergent disciplines of brand strategy, product design, digital and interactive media, technology, software development, and new mobility.

A Senior Technical Analyst is a technical leader on software projects for web, desktop, mobile and embedded platforms. The Senior Technical Analyst position is a consulting role requiring high levels of client interaction and excellent communication skills. The role has two key
objectives: (1) understanding the technical aspects of the project and guiding the project team toward solutions that leverage technical capabilities while avoiding limitations, and (2) ensuring that the work produced by frog, and the manner in which it is delivered, is easily and productively incorporated into subsequent and/or parallel processes.
Effectively meeting these objectives requires establishment of direct, clear communication and professional rapport with technical leaders on client and vendor teams, as well as maintaining a "big picture" view of the program and how it fits into the strategic objectives of the business. The Senior Technical Analyst is assumed to have both deep understanding of key technologies, broad familiarity with a range of technology solution areas and current knowledge of industry trends and developments.

Essential Functional duties (most important parts of job):

* Gathering and documenting client needs and requirements
* Assessing existing and planned technology infrastructure
* Evaluating and recommending of technology solutions
* Assessing and communicating the impact of technical limitations
and/or capabilities to the design team and others
* Evaluating deliverables to ensure they meet or can meet
established requirements
* Architecting technology solutions, including database/schema
design, high-level network architecture, and object-oriented design
* Assisting project management with the planning and re-sourcing
of technical design, development, testing and delivery phases of projects
* Supervising software development and testing teams, directing
and evaluating their work
* Participating in software development and testing, as necessary,
to achieve project objectives

Qualifications:

* 5+ years professional experience; consulting experience
preferred
* BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
* Expert knowledge of core practices and technologies including:
web development, XML, relational database design, object-oriented design, UML, networking, and security
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
* Significant experience writing proposals, technical/functional
specifications, integration plans and requirements documents
* Ability to provide and present technology and architecture
recommendations
* Ability to work in collaborative environments
* Excellent time management, job scoping, and estimating skills
* Experience with desktop, handheld, TV and embedded platforms a
plus
* Prior experience in Project Management, User Interface Design,
Usability, and/or Information Architecture a plus
